Blog + Cam
Un blog trèèès long de Gabe (la suite est dans lire la suite) que je traduirais quand j'aurais le temps x) Les Cobra on mis une cam dans leur "studio d'enregistrement" vous pouvez les voir travailler à certains moment de la journé ici.
Welcome back to the wonderful world of Cobra. We hope you all got smashed on New Year’s and are ready to get down with 09. I’m sorry we’ve been a little MIA, but what with the holidays and surgeries and other bullshit-- we got a little tied down.
So let’s get back up to speed:
We got home from our shredlining tour in the 1st week of December and went straight back into the studio. But my voice was way shredded, so we moved my surgery (which was initially scheduled for Jan 14) up to the middle of December.
I got cut up and was in bed until Christmas (I tried writing blogs while I was laid up, but I couldn’t focus enough to finish because I was just so out of it. And anyway they were coming out corny and tl;dr – but in case you’re bored, you can read it here).
As you can see, not a happy camper. (but it did make me happy to get so many get-well wishes and to see the awesome LJ community. It meant a lot to know so many people were thinking of me ☺ - so thank you)
I then went to Uruguay to visit all my family that I only get to see once a year. Trying to communicate with my half-deaf, 92-year old gramps is rough when you’re trying to recover your voice. The warm weather did me good though.
Here’s me on the beach protecting my voice.
A somewhat happier camper
I did a lot of thinking and a lot of listening to our new songs while I was down there, and I realized that we needed to get away from the city for a minute so we could get deep on the creative tip.
So I got home Sunday night. Unpacked my shit. Throw out my hannukah bush. Woke up Monday morning, went to see the voice doc (he said I’m “doing ok but not great”), and by 3 pm, Ry and I were on our way out to the mountains of Appalachian Pennsylvania. We’ve been holed up here all week and have been writing a ton of shit. It’s like a mad-scientist Lab – we’re all sitting around a big-ass table with our computers and keyboards out. It’s dope. We’re in our jammies all day. Ryland showered for the 1st time a couple of hours ago. Alex is rockin his fluffy slippers, and nate is cookin a lot of bacon. (It smells delicious even though me and alex don’t fuck with that shit). Victoria is in LA visitin her fam and she’s goin to the inauguration next week (luckkkkyyyyy!!!) -- and also it’s her birthday next Tuesday the 20th (so hit her up and buy her a bday shot).
workin on some shit . yes, ryland is totally playing world of warcraft instead on droppin stinky beats
So that’s what’s up with us. Oh yeah – also, the Fall Out Boy tour was just announced. That will be an amazing tour, but it’s gonna be a bummer that people’s faces will be so small from the stage. We’re gonna do everything we can to kick it in the parking lot. Bring your cooler.
I’m gonna try to set up a computer with stickam so you guys can peep us while we're out here. I’ll let you know when that’s up.
Much love to everyone in 2009. Miss you guys
Xo xo

PS: so I just did some catching up on all the comments on here, and sorry to have been so out of the loop, (I didn’t have no intraweb in south America), but I want to address this UK business. There are several points I want to make (this is long, so it’s whatever if doesn’t really affect you, but I just wanna make sure I answer all the concerns).
